#5 Stream of Consciousness
I'm six, running down Seattle Main Street lost once again in another mall in another town. The orange juice she gave never tasted so good, I had a hundred cups before the people I had left found me. Sliding under the garage to escape Tyson’s fist I reach back to grab my hat then I scattered away. Tops off, cruising in Velouria, my brother was the first to buy a blazer. I didn’t want them to see me. I didn’t want to see them. They we're leaving for two years the last thing I wanted to do was say goodbye so I ran, I ran away from the doors of the MTC. I kidney punched the crowd surfer who kicked me in the head. Dad was pissed, you can’t be near the mosh pit and you can’t be front and center and for the crowd surfer you’re lucky he didn’t beat you up. Why wouldn't he just cuss at me? Ever since she entered his life, he hasn’t been the same. It made me sad it took so long for my half decade older brother and I to become friends. Now I just have to let it slip because everything in time slips away so I will now turn my page.

ReplyDeleteDUDe i second that kidney punch it was very discripted
ReplyDeleteGreat contrast between the missionary (MTC) scene and the crowd surfing underground scene. This confused the H out of me. I had to read it three times. How can he be six, running down main street in Seattle and then cruising and then saying goodbye at the MTC and then crowdsurfing......oh, I get it. You're taking us for a ride on your stream of consciousness. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee............
