Styke Saga
When he woke she looked for him. "Styke, when the sun doth rise once more I shall be yours"
"Then I seal that promise with a kiss."
"I need to go milk the cow."
"Velouria, shalt I see thy soon."
"Perhaps" Styke then went on his way to chop wood in the forest. It had been his job since he was a boy. Through the years he had grown strong. He packed up after finishing to go and accompany his family at dinner.
Upon returning he saw his families barn a fire, He ran because he knew Velouria was there. His heart skipped as he passed and broke into. His dad ran in after shouting "she's not here, she’s not. They took her, they took her away."
"I have to go after her."
"You’re an axmen" his father said hesitantly.
"Just an axmen" he questioned.
"You've never used a sword, you don't even have one" there was a pause "or know of anyone who does."
"This axe of mine, with it I provide for my family, with it I protect them."
Fasting his cape he went into the forest. Yielding left and right he made his way. He thought to himself why would they take her and who took her? So caught up in his thoughts he tripped plummeting to the hard unforgiving earth. "What’s your deal? Couldn't you see me here?"
Drawing his axe "who are you?"
"Not someone you'd want to try". Styke tries to strike him down. The wind hisses and Styke finds himself kissing the dirt with a sword ready to be sheathed down his throat. "Now would you like to explain yourself?"
"My name is Styke someone has taken my only true love, barns burning..."
Interrupted "I know of whom you speak and I will help you return this women you speak of safely into your arms yet again. People call me Sykler and I two have lost friends to the Tablords, all they seek is control. Here is your axe back and you can keep this sword."
"Well I only use axes."
"You have two hands, you can use both." Sykler grabs a shield and another sword of superior craftsmanship plated in silver sealed by a zealot of the Rare O'l Thymes at the hilt. "Always be on guard." He swings his sword and points in the direction they’re to go.
"Then I seal that promise with a kiss."

When the boy comes around
Growing up in the shadow of a man, I knew what I would become. But, what kind of man do I want to be? Conventional wisdom has it in Happy Valley Utah that the greatest joy is complete submission to a woman. So is that it? I eat, I work, I bleed, all of this just to please. I give it my all, I give it myself. I'm going to take what I've seen carefully crafted in the shadows and prefect it in the shadow I shall cast on the morrow. There is nothing right about the father who tells his son to go do something he wouldn't do himself. I didn't teach my self how to work, I learned. He gave me his time and he could have gotten it done a lot quicker by himself. The silhouette my father casts never was his. In the shadows we grow, we become, and one day we teach children in the shadows they call their own.
As I reflect back on my life. When I was younger, I remember thinking the kids in high school are gigantic. Now that I am here I can look back and see the Jr. High kids are small, but I still feel like the same person. Gold Finger couldn't have said it better "So here I am growing older all the time, looking older all the time feeling younger in my mind". Personally I don't feel I will truly grow up until I become a father. It’s a transformation where you become this person who’s selfless. It's like when everyone is running out of a burning building, firefighters run in. When your sick and contagious a fathers there patting you on the back as you toss your cookies in the bowl. As a kid my brother was maybe four years old watching my dad toss his cookies he came up and started patting him on the back. Learned by example is the human race. As a father you are mending minds if you ruin them you ruin society, they need to be treated with respect. When a mistake is made as a father, there needs to be an apology. The rules you make for them you must follow yourself, so if you have to put some age limits on it. Someone needs to drive the car.
Emptiness, is one of the feelings my friend faces. He lost his father as a young boy to cancer. It’s been almost a decade. He's bipolar, easy to anger, and cannot find a purpose in life. I've seen these effects on his life and its sad how one soul can so easily make or break us. In all, we human beings will always have our own choice, we decide how it ends. The example of a father cycles through the generations and its hard the break the chain.
This is going to be my life. I’m not going to invent something great; I’m going to be a dad. I’m going to be there for my son, my daughter, my wife, and my grand kids. “With arms wide open” as Creed would say.

Like as to love as love is to like
I once was in like.
she was in love.
Passionate was she.
Who followed me.
An hour she'd wait.
For a chance to say.
Something real quick.
As I went on my way.
I called her to hang.
On New years day.
She held me tightly.
And I whispered quietly.
Are we more then just friends.
she was in love.

Killing chickens with a stick.
I mean their eggs I'm not that sick.
You cannot spray those bees.
Their too high in the trees.
So why did you spray me?
Christmas Christmas on my shoes.
I believe in Santa, why don't you?
Playin hockey its ice cold.
Put the puck in five hole.
Tossed my cookies for the goal.
When she ignites it feels so right.
Velouria my truck is such eh delight.
Chevelle she is my guitar.
And we rock it very hard.
Water boarding, jumpin the wake.
MJ grab out on the lake.
Water skiing with the moon.
Drink it down with Mountain Dew.
Everything is as good.
As I knew it would.
